Who Is an Envisioneur?
An Envisioneur is an open-minded catalyst who envisions a brighter future and injects an entrepreneur’s practical and proactive talents to make that vision a reality. You might not yet see yourself as such a person, but you have latent capabilities that our Method can activate. The Envisioneur Method is designed to give you new skills and perspectives during the process of making your enterprise and your community better. These three things all benefit – you, your enterprise, and your community.
INSIGHT
To create a new initiative or strategy, first understand the present. Gather Insights from field experiences, conversations, news, and reports. What do you see, hear, and feel? What do the numbers tell you? Insights may help you define the problem you are really trying to solve. You might also find that something you’ve assumed about your setting is no longer true. The Envisioneur Method starts with observations so that you can reframe your work and get ready to create something new and potent.
INTEGRATION
The practical side of a great idea comes into play through Integration. The Envisioneur Method explores how internal and external resources can fund and sustain your idea, encourages the use of brief yet meaningful metrics, and applies checklists, role charts, and other tools to help you integrate your innovation into the flow of your team’s daily work. In short, Integration makes your vision actionable and achievable.
INNOVATION
Innovation is the creation of a viable new offering. A great way to innovate is to start with brief statement of an obstacle or opportunity, which we call a Design Challenge. Through a creative and analytical process, a team generates ideas to address the Design Challenge. This process may spark new services, products, communications, or systems. The Envisioneurs Toolkit page gives examples of the visual and narrative tools we use to help teams tackle a situation or pursue an opportunity.
